DOA5LR Season Pass 3, DOAX3, and total spending to date

I’m a bit late to the party on this, but just saw that Season Pass 3 has launched for the US. 104 estimated costumes and a new character for $92.99. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that Team Ninja is milking this to the very last drop and it should be noted there would be no Season Pass 3 if the other two Season passes didn’t sell well.

I didn’t purchase the previous two passes, but the addition of a new character does make this a bit tempting. I’m going to bring out my crystal ball and predict the first two season passes will go on sale soon to entice completionists to buy the third season.

DOAX3
Do you really think a company that releases an unprecedented third season pass (at least I think no one has done this before) would leave any money on the table at all by not releasing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 outside of Japan/Asia?

Dammit, take my money…
I did cave and buy the limited sale version of the Last Getaway set that comes with 24 costumes and four private paradise movies.

AND… despite the fact that I know deep in my bones DOAX3 will get a western release, I did end up pre-ordering the Asian version since the price has dropped on that. If the game is any good, I will most likely pick up the US release too.

Dead or Alive 5 total spend to date
Dating back to 2012 (!), here is my totals spent on the DOA5 iterations and DLC:

September 2012
Dead or Alive 5 PS3 $65

August 2013
Dead or Alive 5 Plus Vita $9.99
Dead or Alive 5 Plus costume packs $12.99

April 2014
Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Million fighters PS3 $19.99
All fighters + costumes

March 2015
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round extra characters with DLC costume bonus bundle
PS4 $39.99
Random individual costumes $14

January 2016
Last getaway premiere set $25
4 premier sexy outfits, 18 last getaway outfits, 4 private paradise movies

Total - $187

So roughly $46 per year over the last four years which is a pretty good return for Team Ninja who has just been tweaking mechanics and adding characters and costumes. Aside from my initial PS3 DOA5 boxed copy purchase, all other purchases were bought when on special sale.

The pre-order of DOAX3 breaks my bargain hunting pattern, but it is the first “new” game since DOA5.
